Watch: Leukemia- Not Just a Disease! (Award Winning Documentary)

Two years ago, I worked on this documentary film, to be submitted as my graduation final project. It's been a long journey since then. The film has been screened at a few film festivals and won the top award at a recent student film festival in Delhi. It amazes me when people I do not even know, congratulate me for the film, the link to which they found by chance on youtube, because the film inspired them beyond imagination. Here I am sharing the final edit of the film for you to view, review, share and comment.

Top 5 Things on my Bucket List #BefikarUmarBhar

I remember I had made my first ‘bucket list’ about 3 years ago when I first understood the concept of a bucket list. Things to do before I die. I had prepared a word document and saved it on my laptop. Whenever I had something in mind, about anything that I would like to do, I would put it as another pointer in the document. I never got around to posting the list on the blog or elsewhere. If given a chance to do anything I wanted to, having no constraints of any kind, I think these are the top five things I would have on my bucket list:

1. Get Published!
I started working on a book a few years ago but never went around completing it. A lack of adequate time owing to college projects then, paused the development. And later, my laziness took over and the project still awaits revival. Yes, someday I want to get my book published and make it to the NY Times Best Sellers list.

Why Shamitabh will be remembered

No spoilers. This is not a review.

Did I like Shamitabh? Yes! Why? I am still figuring out.

As the film ended and everyone got up and started leaving the auditorium, I marvelled at the beginning of the credits. That was predictable, I thought. But was it required?

I thought I would update my facebook status something on the lines of ‘Shamitabh- Go. Watch. It’. But then I thought there were a lot of things I wanted to talk about and I ought to write a blog, a facebook status won’t do justice.

No, save it for the release of Ghoomketu, my heart said. And I agreed to it for a minute. Just for a minute. Before I went for my phone and saw a notification for a new comment on my most recent blog entry, ‘What if you died right now?’

With the gentle reminder of the inevitable I knew I had to write an entry immediately.

What if you died right now?

This post got featured in the Tangy Tuesday Picks on Blogadda.

What if you were to die right now? All of a sudden. The very next moment. Caught without any kind of warning or preparation. Would you be okay with leaving things the way they are? Leaving relations – the good, bad and ugly- the way they are?

What would all those people who knew you, think of you? Would you want to be remembered as the one ‘very good friend who I hadn’t met in months’? Or as the one ‘who I fought with for a stupid reason few days ago but didn’t make up for it immediately thinking there would be a lot of opportunities in the days to come’? Or the one ‘who had a stupid argument with me but my ego was too high to settle the matter there and then’?

Would you be the ‘daughter who lied to me about her whereabouts last night’? Or the ‘son who was drunk and was speeding on the highway with his college friends and didn’t come home’? Or the ‘friend who asked for help and I said I would talk later’? Or the ‘best friend who was too busy with work and didn’t respond to my texts or calls’? Or the ‘teacher who didn’t motivate me at a moment I needed it the most’?
